Where heritage, altitude, and artistry converge

Beyond its technical charm, the club is steeped in heritage. The colonial-style clubhouse, with its timbered interiors and vintage memorabilia, evokes a sense of timeless elegance. Afternoon tea on the veranda, echoes of laughter in the lounge, and the gentle rhythm of the game all contribute to an experience that transcends sport. Whether you're drawn by the legacy or the landscape, Nuwara Eliya Golf Club invites you to play not just a course, but a piece of history.

Where every hole whispers history.

From tree-lined drives to deceptive doglegs, Nuwara Eliya’s signature holes reflect the course’s heritage and terrain. Expect elevation shifts, natural water streams, and fairways framed by towering eucalyptus, each hole a tribute to timeless design.

Hole 3 - Tee Box

The fairways are long & narrow, lined with eucalyptus trees and cypresses.

Hole 6 - Tee Box

A par-5, long, with a dogleg to the left.

Hole 6

A stream or water hazard crossing in play on this hole, especially affecting the approach.

Hole 8 - Hole green

A longer par 5, which requires an accurate tee shot (favouring one side of fairway), then a challenging approach over hazards (water in particular). It offers a good birdie opportunity if played well.

Hole 9 - “Island”

This hole is heavily guarded by bunkers. The green is small. Short is definitely penalized because of the drop & bunkers.

Holes 12, 13, 14 (“Little Switzerland”)

These three holes are in a hilly part of the course known as “Switzerland” due to their elevation changes and scenic vistas.

Colonial comfort meets highland hospitality.

The club offers a full suite of amenities, including a historic clubhouse, cozy visitor accommodations, a well-stocked Pro Shop, and a charming coffee lounge. Whether you're relaxing by the fireplace or enjoying high tea after your round, the experience is as refined as the game.
